Day 1. Chandigarh Manali:
On your arrival at Chandigarh airport/railway station our car will pick you from there and drive to Manali via Swarghat, Bilaspur, Mandi, Kullu and reach your destination in 8-9 hours. Overnight at hotel/cottage.
Day 2. Manali :
After breakfast visit Hadimba temple, Vashist hot springs and temple, Manu temple, club house and Tibetan Monastery. Evening stroll around Mall road of Manali. Overnight at hotel/cottage.
Day 3. Manali - Gemur ( 134 km, 5-6 hours):
The serpentine roads heading towards Rohtang Pass ( meaning pile of corpses, due to people dying in bad weather trying to cross pass ) will surely mesmerize you with the amazing views of Pir Panjal range and lush green mountains. During peak tourist season start early to avoid traffic and reach Rohtang Pass ( 13050 ft) well in time. We welcome you to Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Once you cross Rohtang Pass enjoy the traffic free drive and enjoy the scenic beauty of Lahaul valley. Take a break at Khoksar, the first village of Lahaul valley along with the formalities of entering your vehicle registration at police check post. You will be driving along the river Chandra ( origin Chandertaal lake) from here till Tandi, the confluence of river Bhaga and Chandra which later becomes river Chenab. On the way enjoy the breathtaking view of Sissu waterfall and Gondhla fort. Tandi is also the last and only fuel station in the valley till you reach Leh. You will further cross Keylong, the district headquarter and reach Gemur for your overnight stay at the camp which is located on the banks of river Bhaga.
Day 4. Gemur Leh ( 340 km, 10/11 hours):
Start early and enjoy the wonderful and amazing landscapes that comes along the way to Leh Ladakh ( the land of the passes ). Darcha is another 20 minutes drive for camp site which is the last village of the valley. On your way you will come across Deepak Taal, a small lake and later Suraj taal before you reach Baralachala Pass ( 16000 ft). Sarchu is an hour drive from here which is bordering Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. You will come across Gata Loops ( 22 hairpin loops) and more passes Nakeela ( 15547 ft), Lachulungla ( 16616 ft) and Taglangla Pass ( 17480 ft) before you reach Leh. Have your hot / packed lunch at Pang, a place to eat before you travel through Kyangchu Thang, also named as More Plains now a days. Reach you hotel/guest house by early evening.
Day 5. Leh :
Visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis monastery and Sindhu darshan for half day. Later explore the local bazaar of your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6. Leh Nubra ( 125km, 5 hours) :
You will be driving through the highest motorable pass Khardongla (18380 ft )in the world and enter Nubra valley locally known as dumra, the valley of flowers. Reach Hunder for your overnight stay. The double humped Bactarian camels in the sanddunes of Hunder are interesting as these camels were used during the Silk route times. You can enjoy the camel ride of your own expenses ( nominal charges) and help the camel feeders to earn their livelihood.
Day 7. Hunder Leh:
While going back to Leh , visit Diskit monastery, the biggest monastery in the valley. You can enjoy the view of Nubra valley from top of the monastery. Later drive back to Leh via same route. Reach Leh and later visit Shanti Stupa to enjoy the sunset and the beautiful view of Leh town. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8. Leh Pangong ( 170 km , 5 hours ):
After 3'Idiots the bollywood blockbuster this mesmerizing lake which is 5km in breadth at its broadest point and 134km in length ( 1/3rd of the lake is said to be in Tibet) is one of most popular destinations in the minds of domestic tourists. For peace of mind, spend some time by the lake and enjoy overnight at camp.
Day 9. Pangong Leh :
After breakfast return back to Leh by same route, but dont forget to take a selfie :) The rest of the day at liesure of your own. Try and explore the local bazaar and some shopping before your leave Leh the next day. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10. Leh Mulbekh :
On the way to Srinagar stop for a photography break at Sangam, at Nimo the confluence of river Zansker and Indus. Further drive to Lamayuru and then to Mulbekh where you will be staying at camp for the overnight.
Day 11. Mulbekh Srinagar:
Today you will be driving to the lush green valley of Kashmir from the rugged land of Ladakh. Stay at one of the houseboat or hotel.
Day 12. A perfect way to end the tour with a Shikara ride in Dal lake will surely rejuvenate you and a visit to Mughal garden is a must for this last day of the tour.
Day 13. Departure....
Our cab will drop you to the Srinagar airport for your onward journey.
